Be vigilant
& keep children safe
Latest crime figures show that
1 person in every 27
will be personally
affected by a crime this year
Approximately 1 home in 5
Will it be someone in your
home?
It is a sad fact that crime is
increasing.
It is a worrying fact that
no-one  considers that they or
loved ones could be at risk.

We buy car insurance and
health insurance but little
thought is given to personal
safety.

Why?

The criminals are out there.
Statistics are alarming.

Is there anything more
important  than your safety
and the safety of your family?

It is a sad fact that violent crime is increasing

An FBI report in 2006 stated that Orlando has
experienced the highest increase
in murders in the state of Florida.
Murder rate has tripled in Orlando from January to
June 2006
comparable to the first half of 2005.
Additionally there has been an increase in number
of
rapes, robberies and arson.
Orlando is not alone.
This is part of a trend seen in other parts of the
county.
The days of unlocked doors have gone.

An estimated 16,692 persons were murdered
nationwide in 2005
This is an increase of 3.4 percent from the 2004
figure.
Do you think that any one of those 16,692 people
thought that it was going to happen to them?
There were an estimated 93,934 forcible rapes
reported to law enforcement in 2005
(The FBI estimates that only 37% of all rapes are
reported to the police
which could potentially mean that there were
253,875 forcible rapes nationwide)
Nationwide in 2005, there were an estimated
417,122 robbery offenses.
Nationwide, an estimated 862,947 aggravated
assaults were reported during 2005.
In 2005, law enforcement agencies reported an
estimated 2,154,126 burglary offenses
There were an estimated 6.8 million (6,776,807)
larceny-theft offenses nationwide during 2005.
Nationwide in 2005, there were an estimated 1.2
million motor vehicle thefts
Nationally, 67,504 arson offenses were reported by
13,868 agencies that submitted arson data in 2005
to the UCR Program
Total of crimes listed above including estimated
correct rape figure is:
117,49,073
The resident population of the United States is:
300,946,325
Effectively this means that one person in twenty
seven will be
personally effected by one of the above crimes
That is a really scary thought
How many people live in your street?
How many are in your extended family?
Don't you think that it's time to prepare and protect
you and your family?

action
